If you dont have your own flat then if you are in Cairo and meet an Egyptian from Giza you can take him to your hotel but he cannot book into a hotel in Giza. If you are staying in Giza and meet an Egyptian from the Cairo side he can stay in a hotel in Giza but not in Cairo. Unless of course the hotel decides to overlook the normal rules. One way of getting around this problem is to rent a flat. If you are interested you can look for ads in the local papers, ask any taxi driver (who will take a large commission) or try the ad board inside the AUC (American University in Cairo).
